Hulk Hogan’s contract expiring shortly
Hulk Hogan’s contract with the company expires on October 1, according to multiple sources within the company. There is no indication that Hogan and TNA have come to terms on a new deal. Sources within the Hogan camp declined to comment on the matter.
Daniel Bryan Stripped Of The WWE Title
As seen on WWE RAW on Monday night, WWE COO Triple H strippedDaniel Bryan of the WWE Championship. Bryan won the title from Randy Orton via pinfall at the WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view on Sunday night. However, due to an alleged fast count by senior official Scott Armstrong, “The Game” decided to strip Bryan of the title and hold the title up until further notice.
Rhodes Dynasty vs. Shield?
Source: The Wrestling Observer
While Dolph Ziggler is expected to feud with Dean Ambrose over the US title over the next several weeks, his title shot will likely not happen atWWE Battleground.
WWE is considering a “Rhodes Dynasty” (including Dusty, Dustin and Cody Rhodes) against The Shield for the Battleground pay-per-view. The stipulation would be that Cody and/or Goldust would get their jobs back if they can defeat the Shield. It should be noted that there is talk of keeping Dusty out of the match as he’s not in in-ring shape.
WWE Superstars (Airing Thursday):
Santino Marella defeated JTG with the Cobra. Big pop for Santino.
Kofi Kingston defeated Drew McIntyre. Said to have been a really good match.
If Dusty were to be kept out of match, we would see Goldust/Cody Rhodesvs. Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins. That would free up Dean Ambrose to faceDolph Ziggler for the US title at the pay-per-view. That is the more likely scenario.
Former TNA Knockout Arrested For DUI
Former TNA Knockout So Cal Val (Paige Nicole Mayo) was arrested and charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident back on August 31st. She was arrested, and then released the same day after posting a $600 bond after being cited and charged with failing to yield to oncoming traffic when making a left turn from that incident.
She was originally set for an arraignment today but that hearing has been canceled.
TNA To Run A Major New York Venue
There is a lot of talk internally in TNA right now that the company will soon be running a major venue in the New York City metropolitan area.
Obviously Madison Square Garden is out of the question due to the massive rent fees, so that leaves either the Barclays Center, Nassau Coliseum or the IZOD Center. They could also run the Hammerstein Ballroom but that seems unlikely at this point.
Jim Ross on whether he was forced into retirement from WWE
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross appeared on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani on Monday and was immediately asked about his retirement. “I’ve had a very blessed 39-year run in the sports entertainment world, the world of pro wrestling, so it seemed like a time to give with some other opportunities knocking on the door to give them a shot. No regrets. It’s all been great and more adventures ahead, hopefully.”
Helwani asked Ross if he was forced out of WWE. “After a good discussion and expressing myself and things I’d like to do and just the timing of everything I think it was… when you say mutual it means partially to somebody that you’ve been forced out the door or been treated poorly or what have you, which really wasn’t the case. It was something that we had talked about kind of casually and it just seemed like with the lay of the land, it was good timing.
“I’m not really a negative guy. You and I have talked a few times and I’m pretty upbeat. I’ve always looked at the glass as half full as opposed than half empty. I had some health issues and thank God I’m over those. I’m taking good care of myself… I just think it was the right time. With everything presented as it was, it was just the very best decision to make and now we’re going to move on to the next thing.” You can view the show at MMAFighting.com.
