Univ. Studios addresses end of Impact TV run

A representative for Universal Studios in Orlando says the theme park intends to continue working with TNA after the company takes Impact on the road permanently beginning in March.

“We are grateful for the partnership we’ve had with TNA,” Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said Friday. ”We look forward to the opportunity to work with them again in the future.”

TNA’s final Impact TV tapings in Orlando are February 28 and March 7 leading to the Lockdown PPV on Mar. 10.

Cody Rhodes: I Didn’t Know Goldust Was Returning’

Cody Rhodes tweeted that he didn’t know Goldust would be returning at the Royal Rumble.

He wrote: “Watching TheRumble. Well handled secrecy, @WWEDustyRhodes didn’t even smarten me up, didn’t see Dustin the whole day, then I heard his music. We have MANY differences, but you’re pretty undeniable when I can barely hear said music because the crowd. Amused that I spoiled it for him”

As noted earlier, the Goldust return had been planned for a week or so prior to the pay-per-view due to the angle with his real-life brother, Cody Rhodes. With Cody claiming he was unaware of the return, it’s likely WWEwas “shooting” and wanted a genuine reaction from Cody when his brother entered the match. For those asking how they’d know how to go after each other, etc., it would have been booked on the fly where Goldust went in and whispered to Cody exactly what to do (go with the angle and eliminate him).

What do you guys think? Did Cody know in advance that his brother was returning? Let us know below!

CM Punk Meets Fan Who Was Shot

CM Punk was a guest on The Abe Kanan Show on SiriusXM channel Howard 101.

Punk was able to meet 77-year-old Thomas Dotterer, the liquor store robbery victim who was shot in the eye, but said the worst thing that happened all week was Punk losing to The Rock at the Royal Rumble.

Dotterer was talking about the robbery in Syracuse, New York and returning to work after being released from the hospital. The hosts surprised him when Punk called into to talk to him. Dotterer said he’s a wrestling fan going back to the 1940s when he watched Gorgeous George with his father. He said he follows Ring of Honor and TNA Wrestling and appreciates Punk’s career rising to the top of WWE. He said Punk’s hard work and dedication is why he was so upset when The Rock was booked to win.

Punk then offered Dotterer to be his special guest when WWE is in Syracuse for a house show on March 3.

Don’t know if it was expected or not but Cody/Golddust was one of the best parts of the rumble. Would be great to see this develop to a mania grudge match.
